Hi, I’m Emmett.

I’m a clinical psychologist based in New York City. I offer therapy online or in-person, and I work with adults of all ages.

I take an approach to therapy that balances compassion with curiosity to help my clients feel safe exploring themselves. I help people get in touch with what’s meaningful in their lives and improve their relationship with themselves and others.

I’ve worked in numerous hospitals and clinics in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the past 10+ years.

I have always had a sense of awe and wonder at the complexity of human experience. I chose to become a psychotherapist because it gives me the priviledge to witness this complexity and to help guide others as they come to know the deeper, beautiful and painful parts of themselves.

I have also worked as a scientific researcher at universities and academic medical centers including Columbia, Mount Sinai, NYU, and Stony Brook University. I take seriously the task of bringing scientific evidence to support in helping my clients create changes in their lives.

In my practice, I take an integrative approach that balances knowledge with intuition and a respect for humanity.
