Hi, I’m Emmett.

I’m a clinical psychologist based in New York City, offering therapy online or in-person in Brooklyn Heights.

I work with adults of all ages who find themselves questioning whether old patterns are still working for them and who would like to deepen their sense of meaning, connection, and groundedness in their lives.

I take an approach to therapy that balances compassion, curiosity, and thoughtful reflection to foster a process of safe exploration on the road towards healing. I help people get in touch with what’s meaningful in their lives and improve their relationships with themselves.

I also enjoy contributing to the science of human mental health and illness, and I have worked as a scientific researcher at universities and academic medical centers over the past 10+ years including Columbia, Mount Sinai Hospital, NYU, Yale, and Stony Brook University.
